Obtaining Natural Gas Samples
Sampling used in postings is performed in accordance with GPA-2166 (latest revision) to ensure that all gas samples are collected using a probe extending into the center one-third of the diameter of the pipeline, located on the top of a horizontal line, where practical.
Analytical Test and Calculation Method(s)
Gas analysis used in postings for Nitrogen, Carbon Dioxide and Hydrocarbon Compounds are performed using gas chromatography analysis in accordance with GPA-2261 (latest revision). Physical constants used in the calculations are from GPA-2145 (latest revision) with the following C6+ split: 50% n-Hexane, 50% n-Heptane.
Gas analysis used in postings for H2S and Sulfur Compounds are performed using laser absorption spectrometer and/or gas chromatography analysis in accordance with ASTM D 5504 (latest revision) or through the use of ASTM analytical method D 4084 (latest revision) for lead acetate analysis.
Gas analysis used in postings for water content is performed using either laser absorption spectrometer or sensing cells based on phosphorus pentoxide analysis in accordance with ASTM 5454 (latest revision).
